At Stapleford we cater for all levels of experience; from those who have never flown before to those who may have held a PPL but their licence and/or recency has elapsed.

Our ab initio PPL course is detailed here. However, our PPL Plus course is intended for pilots with a PPL who want to:

• Improve their handling skills and confidence
• Increase safety
• Learn advanced handling techniques
• Enjoy a new challenge

PPL + is a short course that comprise 5 hours flying plus 8 hours ground tuition. It is designed to encourage and enable the PPL holder to expand their flying skills and broaden their experience. The course will be flown mainly in a PA28 Warrior and will double as familiarisation training for those pilots who have not been signed-off in a Warrior.

Upset training will be flown in the T67M260 Firefly. The course fee is £997 and follows this syllabus.

• Circuit revision, including short/soft field operations and crosswind handling
• Stalling revision
• Constant aspect forced landing technique (as taught by the RAF)
• Maximum rate turns
• Handling an EFATO, Engine Failure After Take Off
• Recovery from unusual attitudes and spinning
