CPL Conversion:

To convert your ICAO Commercial Pilot Licence to a JAA-CPL you will need;

• To have the minimum hours as required to pass the CAA skills test
  
  
• To train in the Piper Arrow @ £219 per hour
  
  
• Allow for the 170A test fee of £100
  
  
• Allow for the cost of hiring the aircraft for the 170A. Currently 2 hours @ £219 per hour = £438
  
  
• Allow for the CAA test fee of £712
  
  
• Allow for the hire of the aircraft for the skills test; 2 hours @ £160 per hour = £320
  
  
• To have passed all 14 JAR ATPL Theory Exams
  
  
• Passed the JAR RT practical test
  
  
• Have a valid night rating

Generally students will do a minimum of 10 hours in the aircraft and the 170A is incorporated in this.

To convert your ICAO Multi-Engine Rating to a JAA-MEP you will need to;

• Complete the written paper - £20
  
  
• Pay the skills test fee of £100
  
  
• Allow for the hire of the aircraft during the skills test - approx. 1 hr @ £290/hr
  
  

To convert your ICAO Instrument Rating to a JAA-IR you will need;

• A minimum of 10 hours in the FNPT2 ALSIM 200 Simulator @ £135 per hour
  
  
• A minimum of 5 Hours in the aircraft @ £329 per hour (this includes the 170A)
  
  
• Allow for the 170A test fee of £100
  
  
• Allow for the hire of aircraft for the skills test; 2 hours @ £ 290 per hour = £580
  
  
• Allow for the CAA test fee of £712

We have no landing fees here for students but you will need to budget for landing fees at other airfields during IR training. This will be £300 approx.
